Impacted wisdom teeth can result in:
- Misaligned teeth
- formation of gum disease
- Cysts & tumours

What do you mean by impacted?
“Impacted” means that a tooth either has not come in, when expected or a tooth that cannot erupt because it does not have room/ Space or may be coming in the wrong direction or position. Impacted teeth can be any tooth but most commonly canines and wisdom teeth are impacted.
Which teeth are most often impacted?
Wisdom teeth, which are usually the last teeth to grow between the ages of 17 to 21 are most typically impacted. By the time that wisdom teeth( third molars) come in, the jaw has often stopped growing. The mouth and jaw may thus be too small to accommodate them. Because there’s no real need for wisdom teeth anymore, they’re typically removed if they’re a problem. If you have a small jaw, you’re more likely to have impacted wisdom teeth.
The second most common teeth to be impacted are the maxillary canines. For these teeth we recommend treatments that encourage these teeth to erupt instead of removing them.
How to get rid of A impacted Tooth?
Removing a impacted Tooth is an easy procedure and it’s not going to cause any pain during the surgery as the dentist is going to use anaesthesia to make you numb near the affected area of the teeth and the gum.
Based on your personal preference and the Dentist’s advice, you can get to choose between three types of sedation: general sedation, oral sedation, & IV sedation. After the sedative kicks into the affected area͖ it’s going to give a feeling of numbness. The Dentist then can perform a painless Wisdom Tooth Removal surgery on the patient using the relevant dental tools.
